José Carlos Noronha MD—PhD, Orthopedist, has treated athletes from 58 countries, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Di Maria, and Falcão. He is the Clinical Director of the Health and Performance Department of the Portuguese Football Federation and a Researcher/Coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro.

José Carlos Noronha has been the Clinical Director of the Health and Performance Department of the Portuguese Football Federation since 2014, responsible for defining medical guidelines, procedures, and performance improvements for the 28 national teams. He is the Medical Consultant for Gestifute and was the surgeon for Futebol Clube do Porto from 2003 to 2025. An orthopedist specializing in knee pathology – ligaments, menisci, cartilage, osteoarthritis – he has been responsible for the recovery of hundreds of athletes in clubs from 58 countries. José Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo write the forewords to his publications.
